Top 8 Selling BEVs in the US in 2020

New sales data from Experian shows how dominant Tesla remains in the US, especially when just looking at BEVs and not including PHEVs. In 2020, the Tesla Models 3, Y, X, and S accounted for 8 out of every 10 BEVs. And the top 8-selling models accounted for 95.1% of US BEV sales.

But with 25 more new BEVs likely to be available in the US in 2021, except for the top 2 spots, I expect this chart will look very different next year. New entrants to the chart will likely include: Ford Mustang Mach-E, Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Lucid Air, VW ID.4, and perhaps the Rivian R1T. The key will be how production scales up in 2H 2021 for many of these new BEVs.
