Honda: Disappearing From the EV Scene

In 2018, Honda had one of the hottest-selling EVs in the US (and especially California), with the plug-in hybrid version of its Clarity sedan ranking 5th in EV sales. But Clarity sales have dropped like a rock to my estimate of 3,500 for the year 2020. Ouch.

Honda’s EV plans for the US are unclear, but they have a partnership with GM to leverage their Ultium battery platform in two new BEVs targeting the 2024 model year. And new images have emerged of a BEV and CR-V PHEV for China, but it is unknown if variations of these might reach the US.
